Justice Research Institute premiered its documentary Ubuntu’s Journey for Justice in West Africa: The Nigerian Story at the PILnet Global Forum 2025. The film traces lived experience within Nigeria’s justice ecosystem, documenting the delays, costs and institutional barriers that separate a legal right from an enforceable remedy.
By following a single journey, the documentary converts systemic findings into evidence audiences can weigh directly. JRI presented the work as a case for accessible, people-centred justice in which individuals can claim rights, obtain remedies and be heard.
Narrative evidence carries reform arguments into rooms where statistical briefings stall, particularly among funders and policymakers outside the region.
