Fostering a Professional and People-Focused Nigeria Police Force

Through the above-mentioned project, JRI seeks to support the Nigeria Police Force, the Ministry of Police Affairs and the Police Service Commission to engineer a Police Force more responsive to citizens, operates more transparently, and complies more with human rights values. A key component of the project is a roundtable discussion to be convened in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) to identify points of synergy that can be leveraged to assist the Police in improving its capacity to solve crimes and be more citizen-focused in policing the nation. The outcome of the discussion will inform the design of capacity development series for the Police, specifically on evidence gathering and forensics during criminal investigations.

JRI serves as a hub for legal minds, researchers and scholars to carry out legal research, formulate policies for critical reforms, establish institutional structures for effective public engagement and collaborate to design content for capacity development programmes.
